To the Residents and Businesses of the City of Cheviot:

Cheviot is pleased to be hosting the 2010 “WestFest”, the “Biggest Street Festival” on the West Side of Cincinnati.  It has been estimated that this event will attract 25,000 to 30,000 people.  It will be a two day event on the dates of June 26th and 27th.  This is an opportunity to show off all that the West Side and particularly Cheviot have to offer.  There will be food, entertainment, and fun for all!

An event of this magnitude will require some adjustments to the traffic flow to accommodate it.  The following information will help everyone to prepare for the hosting of this great event:

1.      The “WestFest” area roads will be completely blocked to all traffic at 12:01 AM on Saturday, June 26th, and will not re-open until the streets have been cleared at approximately 6:00 AM on Monday, June 28th.  These blockages will include:

  1. Harrison Avenue from Washington  Avenue on the west to Davis Avenue on the east.
  2. Glenmore Avenue from Bank Court on the north to Mozart Avenue on the south. 
  3. Municipal Parking Lot #1 adjacent to 3721 Harrison Avenue.
  4. Municipal Parking Lot #3 on Glenmore Avenue at Gamble Avenue will be closed to all vehicles (parked or otherwise) to facilitate the installation of rides, booths, and amusements.

Note: Eastbound traffic on Harrison Avenue will be detoured north onto Washington Avenue.  Westbound traffic on Harrison Avenue will be detoured north onto North Bend Road, and eastbound traffic will be maintained for vehicles traveling from Davis, Olivette. and Everett Avenues.  Glenmore Avenue will be blocked to all but residential traffic at Woodbine Avenue from the north and Mozart Avenue from the south. 

2.      A number of streets surrounding the area listed above will be re-routed and or have restricted-access.  These changes will go into effect at 12:01 AM on Saturday, June 26th unless otherwise noted, and will return to normal at approximately 6:00 AM on Monday, June 28th.  These changes will include:

·        Barricade – Glenmore Ave. at Mozart Ave.  Traffic will be maintained both directions on Mozart Ave.  Parking will be limited to south-side of Mozart Avenue.  Parking ban will become effective Friday the 25th at 9:00 PM.

·        Barricade – Glenmore Ave. at Bank Court.

·        Barricade – Harrison Ave. at Washington Ave.  All eastbound traffic will be detoured north on Washington Ave.

·        Barricade – Glenmore Ave. at Woodbine Ave.  Local traffic will be permitted to pass barricade to homes and businesses located on Glenmore Ave. between Woodbine Ave. and Bank Court.

·        Barricade – Lovell Ave. at Woodbine Ave.  Traffic will be both directions on Lovell Ave. from Woodbine Ave. to City Hall Lot.  Parking will be maintained on both sides of the street on Lovell Ave. Resident traffic only.

·        Barricade on Lovell Ave. at Harding Ave.  Local residents will be permitted access to Kessen Ave. and Lovell Ave.

·        Barricade on Kessen Ave. at City Lot driveway.

·        Barricade on Trevor Ave. at City Hall driveway.  Traffic flow will be maintained both directions on Trevor Ave. between Woodbine Ave. and City Hall.  Access will be for residents only. Parking will be prohibited on the east-side of Trevor Ave. between Harrison Ave. and Woodbine Ave.  Parking ban will become effective Friday, 06-25-2010 at 9:00 PM.

·        Barricade – Delmar Ave. at Woodbine Ave.  Local residents only permitted access to Delmar Ave. between Woodbine Ave. and Harrison Ave.  This section of Delmar Ave. to be designated NO PARKING and traffic will travel both directions on Delmar Ave. Parking ban will become effective Friday, the 25th at 9:00 PM.

·        No entrance or exit onto Harrison Ave. from Delmar Ave.

·        Barricade – Harrison Ave. at Davis Ave.  Traffic will be designated One Way southbound on Davis Ave. between Woodbine Ave. and Harrison Ave.  Parking will be permitted on both sides of Davis Ave.  Traffic exiting Davis Ave. will be routed eastbound on Harrison Ave.  Change in parking and traffic flow direction will be effective Friday, 06-25-2010 at 9:00 AM.

·        Barricade – Harrison Ave. at North Bend Rd.  No westbound traffic permitted on Harrison Ave. at North Bend Rd.  Eastbound traffic will be maintained on Harrison Ave. for vehicles traveling from Davis Ave., Olivette Ave. and Everett Ave.  Eastbound Harrison Ave. vehicles will be permitted to turn northbound onto North bend Rd. or to proceed east on Harrison Ave.

·        Barricade - Carson Ave. at Harding Ave.  Resident traffic only.  No entrance or exit onto Harrison Ave.

·        Olivette Ave.  Traffic will be designated One Way southbound on section between Woodbine Ave. and Harrison Ave.  Parking permitted on both sides of roadway.  Traffic exiting Olivette Ave. will be routed eastbound on Harrison Ave.  One way traffic direction will be effective on Thursday, 06-24-2010.

·        Davis Ave.(Davis Alley) between Gamble Ave. and Harrison Ave. will be blocked off.  Access will only be given to band traffic.

·        Davis Ave. between Gamble Ave. and Mozart Ave. will be designated One Way southbound.

·        Everett Ave. will be open both directions.  Exit from Everett Ave. onto Harrison Ave. will be eastbound only.

·        Gamble Ave. will remain a two way street with a closure at Davis Ave.

·        Weavers Alley westbound will be closed at Everett Ave. except for local traffic.

·        Cross St. will be one way south from Gamble Ave. to Mozart Ave.
